Today we're going to do a little test between an aftermarket air filter, this one being a K&N filter, vs a stock air filter. The R1 has additional modifications you can do to help air flow as they stock air box and filter are super restrictive as you'll see in this video. Also, keep in mind that a dyno tune will absolutely help you regardless. Just doing a filter swap most likely won't make much of a difference. With the Yamaha R1, there is an actual restrictor plate in the air box which we'll show you. Like always, we'll show you the base numbers as the bike sits and then we'll compare the dyno graphs with the final numbers. This bike is completely stock except for a slip on exhaust and a catalytic converter delete which will help with the final numbers as well. Another thing you'll see in this video is whether or not hot weather affects your motorcycles performance. We're in Florida and it's been extremely hot lately and you'll see exactly what that does to a motorcycles performance. A few other questions you may have that we can answer: Does too much oil cause horse power loss? Does a K&N air filter improve performance? Best motorcycle air filter? 2024 Yamaha R1 Performance upgrades? Yamaha r1 Dyno tune worth it? At the end of the day, there are a TON of things you can do to increase the performance of your motorcycle which is why we like to show you each step of the way so you can see which modification actually help with performance on your motorcycle. Again, a lot of motorcycle performance upgrades will be much more noticable if paired up with a dyno tune to ensure the bike is running as efficiently as possible.
