West Australian social innovator and founder of 'Befriend', Nick Maisey speaks with Chris Barry from Communities@Work about how community development starts inside the organisation and how our workplaces and organisations are undermined if their culture isn’t aligned with the principles of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD).
Nick uses ‘Design Thinking’ as a way to map change in communities; explains how to avoid the ‘assumption’ minefield to gain deep empathy, and how to challenge our thinking around a problem and incite creativity.
