How Magnetism has Repeatedly Revolutionised the World - Prof Stephen Blundell - Poster Comp. Lecture

Join us on a journey of discovery through the many scientific revolutions born from the study of magnetism.

Explore the history of our understanding of the field, and discover just how much we use magnetism in our daily lives. Just how much has our history been shaped by magnetism? And what might the next scientific revolution be?

Professor Stephen Blundell is a researcher in the Quantum Materials group at the University of Oxford Department of Physics. His research focuses on several areas of magnetism, using muons to study a range of organic and inorganic materials, particularly those showing interesting magnetic, superconducting, or dynamical properties.

This lecture was given as part of the 2020 Oxford Physics Poster Competition Awards Ceremony in September 2020.
