Ed Miliband has successfully thwarted an effort by Rachel Reeves to target one of his essential net zero initiatives in the upcoming spending review.
For several months, the Treasury has been contemplating reductions to the £13.2 billion warm homes initiative, which is designed to insulate homes and enhance their energy efficiency.
However, it is believed that Mr. Miliband, the Secretary for Energy Security, and Ms. Reeves, the Chancellor, have come to a consensus in recent days following tense discussions, and the program will largely remain intact.
