The video shows the near-field radiation after element lengths and spacing were optimized in FEKO's OPTFEKO (Student Version). This antenna uses 12 elements, reflector and antenna included, initially structured according to Balanis's recommendations in Table 10-6 in his book. The antenna used is a half-wave dipole. There is also no boom in this model and all elements are considered PECs. The gain at 4 GHz was approximately 13.76 dBi, whereas Balanis's table predicted 12.25 dBi.
Given the restrictions of the Student Version, where only three variables may be optimized at once and for only 50 iterations, it may be worth pursuing another optimization using the full version of FEKO to see if there can be improvements.
