Dental Assisting School - A Day in the Life of a Dental Assistant Program Student

The role of a Dental Assistant is considered an indispensable function, primarily working in private offices, dental specialty facilities, hospitals, and clinics.

The Dental Assistant program is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and the Dental Board of California per the state’s scope of practice standards. The program encompasses academic coursework, training in a high-fidelity dental lab, and clinical externships. We prepare graduates with the necessary work-ready skills to enter the field.

Students learn infection control, intraoral photography, coronal polishing, digital X-rays, dental impressions, instrument tray systems, dental materials, and basic front office duties for a dental practice. Students perform many chairside skills, including intermediate crowns, fillings, and in-office bleaching techniques. Further, our hyperrealistic dental lab is fully equipped with assimilated mannequins that offer simulated practice.

During their clinical externships, students are exposed to various settings, such as private offices, dental specialty areas, surgery centers, and clinics. Students perform procedures under the supervision of a licensed dentist.

Graduates receive certifications in a) Radiation Safety, b) Coronal Polish, and c) 8-hour Infection Control, as well as their Dental Assisting certificate. Upon completion, graduates are confident and ready to work in the dental field.
