ON THEMANNIISHOW APOLOGY VIDEO:
‪@TheManniiShow‬ responded to recent copyright/plagiarism allegations with an apology video, and it was definitely solid and I respect his response. Nonetheless I feel like some of the claims he made were misleading, especially regarding plagiarism.
His argument about taking other people's audio on TikTok/short form is somewhat invalid. People aren't mad he uses their audio, they're mad he does it in a way that the "original audio" link, links back to his channel instead of the actual original creator's channel, making it his own audio in the process. And then he just adds a tag to the user who created the audio without any context. So now everyone who uses the audio that TheManniiShow took from other creators, will also have their shorts link back to TheManniiShow's channel instead of the original creator. (this is explained by another creator at 12:19 in my video).
This is actual content theft and he was definitely misleading people about this in his apology.
Then there's also the overly expensive, dodgy, A.I. generated merch designs with often stolen illustrations/quotes from other people, amongst other things he just didn't address.
There's also the unaddressed, occasional racial, sexist, all-kinds-of-phobic, jeffrey dahmer glorifying jokes which are mainly weird when catered to a younger audience.
Still the best apology video of the year, just misleading at times.
