Bobby Orr scored “The Goal.”

On May 10, 1970, Bobby Orr scored one of the most iconic goals in hockey history, often referred to as “The Goal.”

With just 40 seconds into overtime in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals, Orr flew through the air after scoring the game-winning goal that clinched the championship for the Boston Bruins against the St. Louis Blues.

This goal not only secured the Bruins’ first Stanley Cup in 29 years but also immortalized Orr in the annals of hockey history.

Throughout his career, Orr redefined the role of a defenseman, amassing 270 goals and 645 assists for a total of 915 points in 657 regular-season games.

He won the Norris Trophy as the league’s best defenseman eight times and was a three-time Hart Trophy winner as the NHL’s most valuable player.

Orr’s career was unfortunately cut short due to knee injuries, but his impact on the game remains unparalleled.
