A quick demo for the https://meet.jit.si service, Jitsi Videobridge (https://jitsi.org/videobridge), and colibri.js (https://github.com/estos/colibri.js).
Jitsi Videobridge is a scalable conferencing video relay or Selective Forwarding Unit (SFU) from jitsi.org. It supports audio mixing with the Opus codec (and many others) and video relaying. This makes it possible for a large number of participants to take part in video conferences without using a lot of server processing resources and with only a normal upstream connection (contrary to FULL mesh networks).
colibri.js is a JavaScript application by Philipp Hancke from estos.com. It controls the Jitsi Videobridge using XMPP and the COLIBRI protocol extention (XEP: https://jitsi.org/colibri). It also relies on an XMPP Multi-User Chat (MUC) to keep track of and control participants.
