Growing Sapphire Buffalo (B12) - Week 2 (Quick Update)

Update Video.

Sapphire Buffalo grass was available in South Africa a few years back. I have tried buying it from quite a few places around the Cape Town area, and without success. It is patented in the US and the rights are held by an Australian company. So i decided to take the Sapphire from the front yard and start growing it in the back.

I have used the off-cuts that grow into my flower beds and transplanted them into a dedicated area in the backyard with the view to establish and then replace the entire back yard. Clear, compost, bone meal, plant and fertilize and water.

Sapphire Buffalo is way softer than regular Buffalo (purplish stem), grows in shade and sun and does not need as much mowing or water and looks great even when compared with Kikuyu.

Hope this helps anyone looking for Sapphire.
