Instant Snow Science Activity for Kids

A quick and easy experiment to set up that yields hours of open play for kids! Make instant snow by mixing 3C of baking soda with 3/4C of hair conditioner. Hair conditioner is slightly acidic and will react with baking soda, which is a base, in a neutralization reaction. This reaction is endothermic meaning it absorbs energy from it's surroundings, making it feel cold - just like real snow! Make snowballs indoors and enjoy the joy of winter from the comfort of your kitchen all year 'round!
