How to select subject in Photoshop | Cut out a subject in Photoshop

If you're wondering how to cut out a person from a photo in Photoshop, this video is for you. Traditionally, the pen tool and magnetic lasso was used to help cut around a subject in Photoshop, but the Select Subject tool now does this for you in seconds.

By selecting subject, you can quickly create layer masks, copy subjects or remove them altogether. If, like me, you use sporting imagery, then this is great for cutting out an athlete from an action photo or a footballer from a match action shot.

I've used a couple of examples of how to select subject in Photoshop and also show how you can tweak the selections for accuracy.
