David Littleproud outlines the party's 'changing' demographics

Nationals Leader David Littleproud has said while the Nationals' roots are in regional Australia, many of the party's electorates "now represent" nurses, teachers and policemen.

"It is true that the demographics are changing," Mr Littleproud told Sky News Australia.

"It's about making sure we understand that much of ... their values lie with those in metropolitan areas

"But there are local, regional solutions that we can be champions of, and it's threading that needle."
