When Kamsa learns through Akasavani, a divine prophecy, that his sister Devaki’s child will end him, he vowed to destroy all her children. However, when Devaki gives birth to her eighth child, Lord Krishna, the goddess Yogamaya is born at the same time to Nanda and Yashoda in Gokul. With the help of Yogamaya’s illusion, Krishna’s father, Vasudeva, secretly swaps the babies. Yogamaya is the powerful Hindu goddess of illusion. When Kamsa tries to take the baby from Devaki, Yogamaya reveals her divine form and warns him that his death is inevitable, as Krishna is still alive.
