I’m a quantitative researcher at SIG.
0:02
I studied pure mathematics and then did a PhD in dynamical systems.

When I finished my PhD, I was torn between becoming an academic and working in industry.

I really liked mathematics and research, and quantitative finance was a great fit for what I was looking for.

What I like most about working at SIG is how collaborative the work environment is and how fast-paced the work can be.

On any given day, I might be working with traders to understand the market, collaborating with other quants on new strategies, or working with technologists to turn those strategies into production systems.

At the same time, priorities are constantly shifting because markets are always changing.

When I first joined, the first thing we did was spend a few weeks in an intensive options theory course.
0:48
This was very useful because I had come from a completely different background in pure mathematics.

After that, I worked on a series of projects with mentorship, focusing on various options studies for APAC markets, which I found really rewarding.
