I’m so glad I opt out of the job market since 2021. It served no purpose for me. I refuse to sign another application just to drain my life away for cheap/non-adjustable pay.

I have been unemployed or underemployed for 6 years. I have a masters degree, I have grad certificates, I have pivoted about 4 times ( but then people ask you why you have a gap in your resume) in Canada it’s very educational specific, so I’m aged out of a lot of entry level jobs. pivoting unfortunately has just made me more unemployable.

I work in Sauget, IL as an area manager at Amazon on the overnight shift. It’s happening. Half of my shift are probably H1B Visas from Africa, Jamaica, etc. The jobs are being taken right from under us.

It has been said many times and it still holds true, If you have a 6 month emergencey fund losing your job isnt that big of a deal. Having a 6 month emergency fund, whether you know it or not, makes you a better employee and your stress levels are at a minimum.

I have been stripping for 10 years full-time year-round. Neighborhood dive bar stripper. Last month I was sitting at work next to a brand new girl who was close to my age about 30 and she said that she was a computer programmer or developer and that she couldn’t find a job and that’s why she started stripping. I sat there, and I could not believe it. I’ve been dancing a long time. I don’t hear that very often. Even for stripping it’s incredibly difficult just to make ends meet , we’re basically living at minimum wage now even as a stripper. It’s tough out there, but it will get better. Even if it takes a long time it’ll get better.

Yep, this is all too true. Again, another accurate video you have put up on YouTube. Glad i found your channel. It makes me not feel so crazy. I literally have applied to 100s of jobs and got rejected or not even gotten a response back. It's absolutely wild. 10 years ago i had offers flying at me from every which direction and the last 4 months its been crickets. Recruiters i have known for 15+ yrs are confirming the same thing with me. They told me, "theres just nothing out there right now and im sorry you lost your job and if i find anything ill send it your way." Then, i hear nothing. I too have just given up on the job search. I gave 20 yrs to my profession. I'm awesome at what i do and have always been a top performer. But none of it matters in todays economy. And, you are right, these jobs suck the life out of us. My heart is heavy for those in their 20s and 30s, knowing what i know now, i know the corporate world will suck every thing out of you and then just dump you on the side. So sad indeed.

This WHY relationships are IMPORTANT...if you SURROUND yourself WITH GOOD PEOPLE, you don't have to WORRY about the UPS and DOWNS of SOCIETY...cuz EVERYONE is LOOKING OUT for each other

I was unemployed in 2008 thru 2010. And it was horrible then. I found a part time job making around $8.00 working 20 hours a week. I could not find a full time. They laid me off years later and I eventually ended up a state job. I got 8 months to go before I’m vested in retirement. I’m older now and could not imagine being unemployed in this job market

Michigan job market been trash, we been losing jobs over the last 4 years and wages have been stagnant for years except for the low paying jobs. I honestly just took two low stress easy jobs paying $17 hourly after getting laid off since my rent and other bills are pretty low. I signed up for Trade School in the meantime and starts in 2 weeks. I’m tired of these jobs.
