I've been looking for a way to notch tubing for a while and since I'm too cheap to buy an actual tube notcher I decided to build this contraption.
It's essentially just a way to attach tubing of various diameters to a drill press table securely enough so it doesn't move when you use a hole saw on it. It also allows for enough room for the hole saw to travel downwards and the position can be adjusted in all directions, as well as the angle of the cut (by rotating the drill press table). Since the v-shaped brackets aren't welded on, the same jig can also be used to drill into square shaped tubing at almost any angle. You can fit anything up to about 70mm in diameter in there. The blue tube being cut is cromoly steel, which worked fine, as well as aluminium.
