Instead of the usual 70s, 80s, and 90s classics, I’m going to dive into awesome shows from the last 25 years that were made for us Gen Xers. I'm talking about 21st-century gems that aired at some point between 2000 and today that capture our generation's sarcastic soul, or our DIY grit, or our love for nostalgia.

But that's not all! These shows were either created by a Gen Xer or they starred Xers who lived the golden era along with us and who were heavily inspired by our elite pop culture. There's even a few shows on this list that actually have those peak civilization years of the 80s and 90s as their setting.

From traditional sitcoms to mind-bending dramas, these picks hit that sweet spot of growing up too fast but never growing out of the fun. I've actually got quite a few titles spanning the last quarter-century—all screaming Gen X louder than a dial-up modem.
