Folks we are down to the final 4 teams of these NHL Playoffs, although it has felt like 3 at times with how things have gone for Carolina. In the Eastern Conference Final, it’s a Carolina Hurricanes vs Florida Panthers showdown where the Canes dropped to an incredible 0-15 since 2009 in the ECF this week. Meanwhile, in the Western Conference Final, it’s a rematch of the Dallas Stars vs the Edmonton Oilers that has had major swings both ways. Both series have had some incredible saves from the goalies especially from Bobrovksy and Skinner who are tied at 3 a piece for the league lead in Shutouts. Connor McDavid and the Oilers have looked dominant for much of their series against the Stars while again, the Panthers look to be favourites at securing not just a 3rd straight Stanley Cup Final but also potentially a back to back Cup Championship. We’ve also seen some amazing goals, big hits and plenty of extra curricular between the whistle play from guys like Brad Marchand, Matthew Tkachuk and Corey Perry. Unfortunately, we’ve also seen injuries from guys like Reinhart and Hintz who was slashed by Nurse but on the contrary, it is now looking as though the Edmonton Oilers, who look better than ever, will now also have Pickard and Ekholm return to the lineup anyway!
