Most of the LED bulbs I have, aren't compatible with traditional light dimmers. I don't really use light dimmer switches, so it isn't really a problem for me. But I think a simple High/Low setting could be useful sometimes. The lamp could be left at the lower setting most of the time, for a soft night light (and power saving mode) and then switch to the maximum position if more light is needed.
In this video I will show you how a simple capacitor can be used to dim many types of LED bulbs. It's called a Cap dropper circuit and it's used in many cheap LED bulbs to limit the current to the LEDs.
